My Experience Using Dreamweaver

In this project we had to create a website with a home and schedule page and add color and uniqueness to it. Throughout this process I had to switch into design view and code view to see why the website design looks like in code view compared to design view. Along the way I learned that I enjoy using dreamweaver a lot, it has me interested in other things I could do when using Dreamweaver. Next time I think I would take more time into actually looking into how Dreamweaver works because when I made this I just hurried it to get it done by the deadline which stinks. I think overall this was a fun project to do.

My Dream House

The scope of the project was to design and create your dream home. Incorporated into this you needed detail, overhangs, and a great design point. To create this house we used SketchUp, SketchUp is an application where you can design 3D models of pretty anything you can imagine. Whether it's a house, video games, or engineering models. I came up with my house design idea basically as i was building it, I would add things that I thought would look good and delete things that didn't go along with the new things I made until I finally said "This is my dream house." Prior to actually designing the house I had spent some time in class one day looking at a website that had many pictures of houses on it, when looking at it I would piece together how I wanted mine to look, but like I said when I actually started creating it I had a whole new idea. I am a very simple/modern person and I wanted to make my house different from others and thats where I came up with the idea for my roof.

Making my dream house into an animation was a lot easier than I thought. All in all it took me about 15 minutes to do. I love how SketchUp had its own animation creating part of it because if I had to export it and animate it on another application it would have taken much longer to do. Throughout making my dream house I learned how to use SketchUp and have grown to love it a lot. It has taught me how to create what I imagine and bring it to real life, where I can actually see it.

Next time when I create another thing in SketchUp I need to add more detail and make it look real while still making it what I like. I love how I made my house different from everyone else's yet still keeping it the same in a way. On my next project I would like to create maybe another new 7 wonders of the world structure, it would help me add more detail into things and make it unique and different. Next time I will learn to add more detail and make sure I add enough of everything I do.

I did my animation in Keynote and then Made it into a movie in iMovie. I am very happy with my creation and I love the way it came out. One of my favorite parts was on iMovie how I added the sounds to it and pulled it all together to make it look like a short film. My least favorite part was having to add 12 more slides to film to make it fit the range that my teacher wanted which was 200 slides. Although I had some complications I am very excited about my first animation and how it came out!

Project 1 in Animation

My animation is about a fish in a picture going on an adventure under the sea an finding a piece of food that leads him to a bucket and back onto a picture. A big technique that I used was duplicating the slides, it helped me to make the fish look as if it is moving. Another technique i used was the shape tool, it is what really brought my story together. Yesterday when I got critiqued the people mentioned how they didn't like one of the fish I made and they wished I would speed up the transitions from slide to slide. They said that they liked the detail and the part where I used water droplets as the fish gets dropped back into the bucket.

Photoshop Projects

Project one was the easiest, we had to use a picture of our school as the background then added a compass with our school name on it. Then we had to type ONW and clear both of them out so we could still see the school behind each thing. The tools we used in this project were the text tool, opacity tool, and the copy and paste tool. It took me time to get use to the tools but I managed to get it to work out.

Project two was my favorite one to do when I finally got the hang of it. We had to turn a monarch butterfly into our own creation by changing the colors in the wings to any colors we wanted. We did that by using the Magic Wand tool and selecting the wing section we wanted then changing the size of it to select it all. Next is where I got stuck a lot, I couldn't figure out how to make the wings appear like they are moving so I slowed down and asked a friend.  For that part we used the clone stamp to select a part of the wing then clicked and dragged it along the edges of the wings about 3-4 times to make it look as if it were moving.
Project 3 is where I struggled the most. We used the school as the background and cropped it to make it narrow. Then we used the text mast to add the words so they can be see through and added a gradient to the background. Lastly we added white around the borders on the letters to make them pop more.

Project four was easy because I got the hang of most of the tools to use. We used the same background as two of the other projects. Here we had to use the Lasso Tool to crop out the head of the raven and copy and paste it on to the picture of the school then use the opacity tool to blend it in. Then we had to add four other pictures to it and I used the opacity tool to make it less visible and blend into the background and lastly used a thumbnail to cancel out the edges of each picture.

The thing I did well in was addressing what my problems were and fixing them out and catching back up. I think my last project needs more work because it just looks weird, like I should have put the other pictures in a different spot.

My Logo

Our logo project was next. We had to create a logo with either a square, circle, or triangle, and each shape had different characteristics to them or they meant something if you put them into a different direction than the normal direction. Then we had to add color to it, and color too has eating and we had to choose two colors that best fit us. Next after making the shapes and filling it in we added text, and most people, including me, just added their name.

To make our logo we used Adobe Illustrator. First I thought of what category of shape and color I fit in and I made a rough sketch of how I wanted my logo to look. After that I started on Adobe Illustrator. First you would make the shapes by selecting the rectangle tool and make the shape(s) and move them to how you want them to be. Next you would choose the cursor and select one shape at a time and add the color. Lastly you would add the text you wanted and you're finished...almost. After finishing your logo you need to save it as a PNG so you don't loose it! Oh and don't be scared to change your logo as you go.

Why Colors Matter

Color matters because we see them in our everyday life, it's all around us wherever we look. Color helps us understand things better like red means stop, like on a stop sign or stop light. Orange tells us that there is construction near. Color helps our brain and eyes see things better. Color is a way of life.

Red- love, anger, passion, stop.
Green- nature, health, calm, fresh.
Blue- water, calm, clean, refreshing.
Black- dark, evil, old, danger.
White- clean, purity, bland, open.
Purple- royalty, powerful, coolness, night.
Yellow- cheery, warm, bright, nature.
Orange- warm, excitement, draws attention, relaxing.
Brown- dull, lazy, boring, plain.

My Personality Type

I recently took the Meyrs-Briggs personality type test, from it I learned that i am an ISTJ. The I stands for introvert, introverts tend to be quiet people and like to keep to themselves. They also prefer to know just a few people very well rather than a lot of people. S stands for sensing, these people play more attention to what is currently going on more than the past or future, they also remember more detailed things, important things. T stands for thinking. When making decisions ISTJ's think and come up with the resolution rather than using how they feel to determine the outcome. Lastly is the J, it stands for judgement, people who are judgmental are people who like to schedule their decisions in order, and are driven by time frames and lists. Many people are ISTJ's such as Queen Elizabeth II and Matt Damon.

This description describes me close to exact. I am a very introvert person, it takes me time to warm up to people and open up to them. It is fairly hard to meet new people because I am quiet. People who don't know me that well always say that I am quiet and awkward while the people who know me well say I'm funny, dorky, and blonde. The part that doesn't so describe me is the part where I like to be alone. I do like to do my own thing at school but when I am home I get bored very easily when I am by myself, I like to go out and do things. This experience made me think a lot about who I am, like I never knew that I was that much of an introvert but I guess I am.

My personality type plays more of a big part on a team/group for school projects rather than in my family. I'm not the type of person that likes to work in groups because there is always some people who don't do work while the other person does it all, I'm usually the person that does it all. My family is actually the ones who told me that I was quiet and its hard for me to open up. They accept me for who I am and help me with my first impression because they say I come off a rude sometimes. I was caught off guard by it at first then after taking it in I knew I had to fix it. When my personality type fits in with things I do I know how to do it and I get it done easily. Now when things don't fit well with who I am I get stuck a lot and I usually ask for help. Recently I meet my baby brothers baby sitter and she mentioned to my stepmom wether I liked her or not and she explained to her how I am. It made me feel awkward and rude. When people meet me at first I get Scared because I
am a shy person and not good at fitting in, it is what gets in my way a lot with making new friends and meeting new people.

I made this Color Wheel in Adobe Illustrator. Adobe Illustrator is a software that can make things such as my Color Wheel. Many times in making this I used the rectangle tool which is a tool that makes many shapes such as a rectangle, circle, polygon, and a triangle. I also used the color tool to change the colors of the shapes from blank to the correct color. Adobe Illustrator is a lot easier than it looks...trust me.
